Goodness Abounds

Now, more than ever, we feel that it’s so important to look for – and FIND and CELEBRATE – the many examples of good-hearted people expressing kindness…every day, in endless ways!
This book will include 365 true stories (from over 250 contributing authors) of people expressing love, goodness and kindness. The experiences will range from huge expressions of lifelong love (such as caring for a child or aging parent with severe challenges) to small acts of kindness (such as complimenting a stranger) – all sharing one thing in common: they add to an ever-growing mountain of evidence that goodness abounds!
It’s our hope that when someone picks up this book, they can flip to any page and find a true-life story that will provide inspiration and encouragement to reflect upon the kindness they’ve experienced in their own life…and to be on the lookout for more!
I met Dan Teck and Jodi Chapman several years ago during a free gift promotion. I was so impressed with their free gift I joined their Soul Shakers Community. In 2015 they published and compiled the first book in the 365 Book Series with over 200 contributing authors. Our fourth book- Goodness Abounds: 365 True Stories of Loving Kindness was launched on Nov. 14, 2017.My featured piece is called “The Baby and The Bus Driver”. Dan was so inspired by my story he created a blog post called “Inspiration from a Young Mother”.I am honored to continue to spread the “Goodness”.
Inspiration from a Young Mother
The stories in our new book, Goodness Abounds, follow two basic guidelines:
They have to be true stories about goodness.
The “good-doer” has to be someone other than the author.
Because of guideline #2, these stories aren’t about authors “tooting their own horn” (which is fine in many contexts — but that simply isn’t the focus of this book). Sometimes, though, even while they were shining a spotlight on other people’s goodness, I couldn’t help but admire the authors themselves. This was definitely the case with Jerri Eddington’s story, “The Baby and the Bus Driver.”

Tandy is my Amazing friend and colleague! My first son, Shawn was born when I was 16 years old. He passed when he was 16 months old, from complications of the flu. On Shawn’s 44th birthday in heaven, I shared the “Lessons I Learned…. When I Looked for The Good” on my personal Facebook Page. Tandy wanted to share my “Lessons Learned” with her audience. She created a beautiful blog post called: “When Gratitude, Kindness, Grief, Hope, and Compassion Collide”.

My good friend, Dr. Jerri Eddington, recently posted a message on Facebook about lessons she learned about her short journey with her beautiful first-born son, Shawn. Jerri’s message has profound lessons about love, courage, hope, compassion, grief and more. She agreed to allow me to share her beautiful story. My insights are below.
